Attractive business climate– strong brands
Ulricehamn was named as one of the Västra Götaland region’s main growth areas for 2014. The ranking is based partly on the number of new jobs created, turnover and profits in local businesses. The town is also home to many growth companies such as Lager 157, Ulricehamns Betong, Emballator, AP&T, LKPex, Botek, Bolon and Wernerssons ost
Ulricehamn’s strategically favourable location has not gone amiss
More and more companies are finding their home in Ulricehamn. In 2016, the municipality welcomed a full 32 new establishments. The motorway
connecting Gothenburg and Jönköping makes Ulricehamn an ideal location for logistics companies and e-commerce companies. Ulricehamn’s strategically favourable location has not gone amiss and its successes are measurable, as a result of which interest has been building in the Rönnåsen
industrial estate and other strategic locations throughout the municipality.
3000 businesses
Ulricehamn currently has approximately 3,000 businesses based in the municipality. Trade and industry here is hugely varied, with particular strengths in the construction, manufacturing and textile industries. In recent years, companies in the hospitality industry have also shown notable growth. We have a wide range of industries, and many small businesses have proven to be a force in a changing world, with the companies managing the turbulence of the global markets over the past few years with aplomb.
Business and education in close cooperation
Many business owners today are worried about recruitment and the difficulty of finding talented employees. The business community in Ulricehamn therefore works to strengthen the cooperation between enterprise and secondary school students, to ensure that ever more young people obtain an understanding of how the business world really works. Tingsholm secondary school is one of Sweden’s leading secondary schools in terms of results in Junior Achievement, an education initiative promoting youth entrepreneurship. In addition to cooperation on Junior Achievement, we also strive to incorporate the advice and opinions of the area’s companies into the school’s operations, as a result of which there are now several industry councils
within the school in which local entrepreneurs can get involved and make a difference. It is also worth mentioning that youth unemployment in the municipality is very low.
Trade development with potential
An attractive town includes an active trading environment with the potential for growth. Ulricehamn has several commercial areas, of which the town centre and Gällstad are the two largest.
